The Beginning

heyHEYhey!! Welcome to my blog! The purpose of this blog is to track and record my newest adventure, which I will explain later 🙂 As many of you know I am a list maker.  I make lists of things to complete each day, each week, things to buy, things to make etc, etc. I make my lists on post it notes, index cards, envelopes from letters received in the mail, you name it I’ve probably started a list on it! When I graduated college three of my supervisors even got me a whole book dedicated to list making called “My Future Listography” Yes, a whole book of lists of things to do!

I have a feeling that this list making came from the job lists I was given as a kid on the farm to complete. There is just something about crossing off items or checking the premade box on my to do list that gives me a sense of accomplishment. Of course when I was a kid crossing off a job meant I was one step closer to ‘play time’ or ‘free time.’ However, the lists that I actually cross items off are relatively short-term activities. Don’t get me wrong, like I said I have a whole book of lists of activities or things that I want to complete sometime…someday…when I get around to it, but I am no longer going to wait for that day to come!

One of my new friends introduced me to The Day Zero Project. For those of you who do not know what that is, don’t feel bad neither did I! It is an inspirational website dedicated to helping people set and reach their personal goals in life. Basically you make a list of 101 specific/measurable  things you want to complete in 1001 days. The 1001 days, which is a little shy of 3 years, is to prevent procrastination while at the same time giving enough time to comfortably complete your list.

SO no more procrastination for this girl! Starting today, I have 1001 days to complete my list of 101 things. You can check out my list on the menu tab. You will see that creating a blog is actually one of the 101 things on my list as I have always wanted to start one, but didn’t know what I would blog about. This blog will be about the adventures I take completing each task and will include some pictures along the way as well! I’d say I’m off to a pretty great start, I can already check one off! 🙂 Create blog Completed!!

  1. Kelsey: Loved reading both the blog entry and your list! Good luck with it – I hope your blogging experience is as wonderful as mine has been! I would bet your first entry will also take care of another item on the list – inspiring someone else to make a Day Zero list! If it turns out to be me, I’ll let you know.

  2. Kelsey ~ I thought Cathy was the Queen of list makers but I think you may have her beat! Love the Day Zero List. I’ve done #13 – awesome! #16 makes me feel old! #18 at least nobody boo’d. #19 do they still make those…

Now have two Hansen blogs to follow! Seem’s like your enjoying Indy ~ hope to see you during the holidays.
