Once again I owe it to my friends for helping me to complete another task on my list. I have eaten at 5 new restaurants! I figured that being new to Indianapolis that this would be a fun challenge and help me scope out the city as well. However, the last two restaurants that I tried were actually in the great state of Iowa!
Blackstone All of the lovely ladies from C5 Andreas (later to be A4) gathered for brunch at Blackstone in Iowa City. My old roommates- Alyssa, Beth, Maria and Marissa were finally able to all get together. The food was SO good!! and of course it was great to all be in the same place at the same time again like the good ol’ days! Nice to get some high quality face time in and catch up in person as oppose to social media! After brunch we even attempted to go to a chicken show as someone informed us we HAD to see it (for those of you that know my roomies, I’ll let you speculate who) but sadly it was over when we got there. Ha! Shout out to my roomies – I miss ya’ll!!!
Mabe’s Pizza One of my great friends, Sara, got married this past weekend in the big town of Decorah, Iowa which happens to be home to Mabe’s Pizza. I had previously heard a lot about Mabe’s from family members and friends that live in north east Iowa about how great it is. Well this weekend I finally got to experience it for myself and of course the food was really great!! It was also great to share in Sara’s BIG day and meet a lot of her family and friends that I’d heard so much about. Wonderful people 🙂 I also was able to catch up with friends at the wedding which is always super fun! Shout out to Courtney and Emily (and their SO) for being awesome!!
Two other wonderful ladies I got to see and spend time with were…my amazing mom who drove all the way across the state to see me AND my grandma who of course served as my hotel for the weekend! HUGE THANKS to both of you!!
